As You Are is an exciting new company whose mission is to establish a world-class virtual clinic that dramatically increases access to early neurodevelopmental diagnostic services and care coordination. Through virtual medicine, our team of pediatricians with training in autism diagnostic evaluations will increase community access to expert opinion for caregivers searching for answers about their child’s social development or for primary care physicians who understand the importance of early ASD diagnosis, but are not equipped to diagnose ASD in the primary care setting.

We are seeking physicians who are motivated to provide high quality, patient and family-centered care in a virtual care setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in autism and other behavioral health and developmental disorders. JOB SCOPE

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be an integral member of the senior leadership team and will be the source of day-to-day operational oversight and management of a large virtual diagnostics clinic. The COO will experience a meaningful opportunity where the care provided to patients and families truly changes and transforms the trajectory of their lives.

Responsibilities will include providing the operational and strategic leadership necessary to deliver high-value care within our virtual medical practice, As You Are. This position will report to the Chief Executive Officer and will act as a base source of information and decision making for the entity. Operational oversight includes: Continued build out of integrated systems, processes, clinical and administrative teams to serve our mission of supporting families and children seeking assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

● Evaluate and continually improve current practice operations, policies, and processes

● Perform daily analysis of performance by sourcing and independently interpreting raw data, including data associated with clinical services, revenue cycle management and patient throughput, to ensure the organization is performing to projections

● Responsible for setting meaningful financial projections and KPIs for all functional areas of the As You Are business, and monitoring these metrics weekly to deliver on all clinical, quality, operational, and financial goals

● Manage daily operations of multiple levels of staff and leaders of multiple functional areas (i.e., Technology, Customer Service, Revenue Cycle Management, Clinical)

● Due to the exclusive virtual nature of As You Are, the COO will work closely with the technology team and will be responsible for constant evaluation and improvements to the patient and physician virtual process

● Must be flexible, innovative and action-oriented, with a proven ability to handle complex situations and solve complex problems for a unique business model

● Drive process improvements to deliver consistent and standardized daily virtual operations designed to optimize clinical services and patient throughput

● Drive operational excellence via the right tools, processes, and resources

● Proactive and responsive to operational and system improvement needs in order to meet projections and market pressures, and manages implementation with a strong project management style

● Informs the CEO of strategies for business modifications through analysis of performance metrics and user experience data, and works closely with the CEO to manage implementation

● In collaboration with CEO, and senior leadership, refine and execute the overall strategy of the virtual clinic, and strengthen/align the business and clinical objectives across the organization

● Ability to empower driven teams to build scalable, systemic, and iterative change throughout the organization

● Must have strong analytical skills and a demonstrated history of independently interpreting performance metrics to improve overall business outcomes

● Must model high performance and accountable leadership

● Must have the ability to facilitate productive communication between physicians, administrators and staff at all levels

● Must be focused on maintaining the highest level of care for children and families

● Foster a culture of trust between clinical, administrative teams and support functions

● Our successful COO will be the source of institutional information and provide support and guidance for decision making with functional areas, always using data and an innovative mindset, and will act as CEO in the absence of the CEO

WORK ENVIRONMENTS AND HAZARDS

This position requires sitting for extended amounts of time with a majority of tasks requiring typing at a computer station.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position is mainly a stationary position involving sitting and standing for extended periods but may involve walking. Requires the ability to use computer screens and keyboards.

QUALIFICATIONS

● Demonstrated experience working in an innovative or startup environment, or experience managing virtual care networks strongly preferred

● Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field preferred

● Demonstrated leadership accomplishments in the overall improvement of financial and operational performance of an organization

● A minimum of 5 years’ experience in healthcare with progressive leadership roles in behavioral health, pediatric, or family care preferred

● Must have experience with financial management and business development

● Experience in a mission-driven organization, demonstrating high levels of quality/clinical outcomes, service, productivity, and efficient operations

● Experience with IT systems and electronic workflows, such as electronic health records (EHRs) and ability to assist the organization in making key technology-related decisions impacting our virtual care business

● Strong business acumen, quality, and metrics orientation. Financially astute and highly experienced in using, developing and implementing benchmarks and other tools that improve operating, financial and service performance

● Knowledge of revenue cycle management, national health insurance, healthcare, pediatrics and behavioral health practice trends

JOB SCOPE

In this role the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will be responsible for providing diagnostic evaluations, within our As You Are virtual diagnostic  clinic, for patients to inform treatment recommendations. The SLP will assess children ages 16 months to 10 years old for potential speech and communication disorders and develop unique and comprehensive intervention recommendations.This role will partner with As You Are Pediatricians to provide comprehensive evaluation services for children and families.  Additional responsibilities include completing administrative tasks including documenting billing information, keeping accurate records of evaluations and associated patient notes, and working collaboratively with other clinical staff and service providers at As You Are to provide high quality care to patients.

Primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Administer speech and language evaluations

  • Develop comprehensive clinical reports depicting the results of the assessment for referring physicians, clinicians and patient families

  • Provide high quality clinical care, including accurate diagnoses, identifying areas of speech and communication challenges, and comprehensive intervention recommendations

  • Provide compassionate care and maintain good rapport with patient families

  • Develop detailed speech and language treatment goals and objectives

  • Determine Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) needs, strategies and systems for each individual client

  • Integrate AAC strategies and systems into screenings, assessments and treatment programs as applicable

  • Create necessary materials to support a variety of communicative needs

  • Other duties to be assigned as needed
